Muscle Training for Musical Instruments

As a noob to this forum I’m still getting my bearings…

My friend Kevin did a project where they made this glove with little motors in it, and he tested it with people to see if stimulating the fingers throughout the day in the sequences of songs that they were learning on the piano helped them to learn the songs faster (passive fingering practice, so to speak). It actually worked, but he couldn’t commercialize it due to a crazy patent some guy had.

By the way, there is a community of people using spaced repetition - of the type that Nick has applied in Skritter - in musical training. This isn’t quite what you asked about, but it is a useful tool.
