Computer use tracking

I’m interested in tracking computer use… where my time is spent… When and what time.

The key thing is that I’m able to get the data out of the program… data has to stay on my computer(s)… so no web apps… and I’m on a Mac.

I want to put the data into my own database

Also… in the short term it has to be free.

If there are currently no options for this sorta thing that meet my needs… I suppose I’d be looking for and tips, pointers, or suggestions towards making my own damn program.
