Hacking Movie Reviews

I put together an article of how I used my past movie choices to crowd source movie reviews to determine which movies I will like and which ones I can skip. I looked at correlation between movies review sites and my own personal choices and analyzing the data.

It made for some interesting findings.

Hope you find it interesting.

How did you collect the ratings from the different sites? Manually or with a script?

I’ve kept track of movies I’ve watched over the past year or so at https://zenobase.com/#/buckets/u07qih0a27/?q=tag:movie, and this looks like a fun analysis…

I paid someone on Odesk to collect the data for me. You can find someone to do data look up for under $5 an hour. I dont think it took longer that 2 hours of work.
