Have you done validation tests with your new tools?

Hi, I’m curious if anyone has done a structured validation of a new device. Have you read the scientific literature relevant to the metrics your device measures, or the analyses it does? Have you found a medical/industry standard of comparison for your device? Have you measured its precision by conducting identical experiments? Have you contacted the company?

How do these factors play into your decision to purchase or use a device, and do they inform the kinds of questions you ask?

Before buying the Beddit I read the journal papers about the ballistography algorithms it uses to determine heart rate and its comparison to other methods. It gave me confidence in the accuracy of the device before purchase.
