I have been experimenting with microdosing l theanine . I have brain fog and fatigue .
I found L theanine helps but it’s effect stays short term . I thought what if I use it frequently and in lower doses than the standard 200 mg capsule .
I made a DIY nasal spray that delivers 2 mg of l theanine per spray . ( 200 mg capsule dissolved in 10 ml isotonic saline and a standard nasal spray bottle .
I subjective experience tell it is working as well as the 200 mg capsule though the effect last 30 minutes . The full capsule was covering an hour for me .
Your post is interesting, relatable and unique. Thank you for posting about quantifiable (legal and ethical) microdosing experiments. I’m glad to see the subject re-emerge in a community such as this forum.
How much longer are the effects of L-Theanine for you when administered via a nasal spray, when compared to more traditional ingestion methods? Is the increase in effect duration exponential?

I started taking l theanine 200 mg capsule . But the problem is effect wears out in 1 hour . I have brain fog and mederate chronic fatigue . I suspect from higher level of cortisol inside brain and/or low grade chronic brain inflammation . I thought of seeing if l theanine work in lower doses because its a bit expensive for me . I tested three ways . Dissolving 200 mg in 300 ml water and taking a sip frequently . I found one sip gives calm and clear brain for 30 mins . Then I made jelly and found 50 mg gives the same effect for 30 mins . And now nasal spray . Next I will make hard candy and see if keeping it in mouth gives a more even effect .
I am not sure if it will work for normal functioning brain.
