New Here – Looking for Help to Get Started

Hi everyone,

I am new to the Quantified Self Forum and just wanted to say hello.I have recently started getting more interested in self- racking and personal data but I am still figuring out the best ways to begin.

If anyone has tips on what tools, apps or routines are good for beginners or if there are any helpful threads or resources on here,I do really appreciate the guidance.

Looking forward to learning from this community.

Thanks,
Moe

Hi @moe313 and welcome!

There are many apps and tools available for tracking and data analysis. I’m developing one of them, Reflect, some of its features are:

  • Customizable user-defined metrics
  • Automatic sync with Apple Health, Oura Ring, Whoop and local weather
  • Insights with correlations, anomaly detection, and automatic trend discovery
  • Ability to run experiments to test lifestyle interventions

Other popular alternatives are Guava, Bearable, and Exist.

There’s also places out there that list tools and more general helpful information in this category, like the the Awesome Quantified Self list and the Personal Science Wiki.

Hi @Syler,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and for sharing these great recommendations.

Reflecting sounds really interesting especially the customizable metrics and automatic syncing. I will definitely check it out along with guava, bearable and exist. I did not know about the awesome quantified self list or the personal science wiki either so I really appreciate those resources too.

Excited to dive in and start exploring. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Best,
Moe
