Came across an interesting US based nonprofit organization whom I hadn’t heard of until recently. The group is known as the “Self Research Institute”.
According to the homepage of their website:
Self Research Institute, a U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit, specializes in scientific research and technological advancements with a primary focus on personal informatics (PI), also known as Human Data Science. Engaged in both research and product development, our core offering is the Self Health Wallet—a robust solution designed for the self-sovereign, secure, and private management of personal health and medical data. We believe everyone can benefit from access to their health data and advanced analytics, to achieve their best health.
SRI has been around for at least a few years and is comprised of 20 team members distributed around the planet. They appear to be endorsed by a number of prominent technology business leaders. And a number of current and future resource/tool initiatives are described on their website. Which includes:
- APIs/SDK
- Various mobile applications
- Education portals and collaborations
They are active on numerous social media platforms and have blog articles recently published on their platform. Indicating there is some degree of internal life/momentum to be found here.
I don’t know much about this institution at the moment, but I am keen on remaining up-to-date. Does anyone know something about SRI? They appear to be legitimate, but that is a statement based on first impressions alone.
