The Usefulness of a Single Point of Quantification

The quantified self approach has proved itself for me very useful with exactly one specific reading. Visited my GP last week over pain in my side. They asked if I had had any “hot flushes” — despite not being a woman. Looked at my iPhone and after mentioning a recent occurence the doctor now suspects I have gall stones. The QS data provided a crucial piece of evidence. Booked in for an ultra sound to test the diagnosis.

I’m sorry about the health problems but that’s great you are on the path to answers! There have been physicians that write about the benefit of keeping a symptom journal, maybe you can convince yours to start recommending the practice to patients. Many people just don’t seem to think about it otherwise.
