Ultrahuman Ring Air

Review of the leading makes of smartrings and smartwatches was published in the UK broadsheet newspaper last week.

I had been considering getting an Oura Ring but the toll charges on my own data put me off. After reading the above review I decided to go with an Ultrahuman Ring Air. It does not require a subscription in order to access one’s data.

My ring is currently sitting on its charger ready for the setup after which I will be taking it for a walk — literally as so far today I have not been out for my daily walk around my village whic typically takes 35 minutes at the moment. Particularly looking forward to getting Vo2 max data when out Nordic Walking with poles which Apple Health does not record.

I hope it’s better than Oura and others. That battery life limitation really puts me off smart rings, but I’d prefer it over a watch since I just use it for heart rate, sleep, and steps. Looking forward to your update on it!

As of 2014-Oct, UltraHuman ring weren’t happy with it, but apparently a recent firmware update made the UH ring “SO much more accurate”.

Michael Kummer (of the “I’m not a fan of sunscreen” fame) wrote a comparison of the rings.
